What a difference a year makes! It feels like I was taking little Seph’s newborn photographs just yesterday and now he is a spunky little toddler that loves to run and play. I had so much fun spending time with Beth and Nicole again as they prepare to welcome their second son into the world. Good luck with the upcoming birth!
I finally purchased and made use of a quality remote control device for my camera! Last week’s subject was none other than…myself and my husband! We headed down to the Cherry Blossoms at the last minute and set the tripod up to capture a few photographs before we welcome our newest addition into the family. Here are a few of my favorites:
Spring has come to Washington, DC and there’s no better way to celebrate its arrival than by visiting with friends and taking in the beauty of the cherry blossoms. I’ve known Jessica and Justin for many years now and they’ve patiently let me practice my photography on them and their son. I really enjoyed watching this sweet family explore the tidal basin early in the morning in celebration of their anticipated new arrival – a baby girl! Dylan, their almost three year old, enjoyed looking for ducks and playing with sticks. Here are a few of my favorites from this session.

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of strolling through Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens during the last real day of summer with Jennifer and Abdoulaye. I had so much fun capturing their last few weeks as they prepare to become parents for the first time. They brought along their sweet dog Tyson and we made it our mission to find the last remaining blooming water lily. Jennifer and Abdoulaye have great energy together and are happy people to be around. The laughed and smiled at each other and it was fun to see their natural connection as a couple. They will definitely make amazing parents! Baby girl is already surrounded by so much love!
I’m so excited for these two lovebirds to become parents soon. Robert and Andrea are expecting their first child, a baby girl, around December 22nd. I know Andrea from back in NC, when our husbands were both stationed at Camp Lejeune. This couple is always fun to be around, especially when wandering around the woods in Stafford. We headed to Government Island to take a few photos of {just} the two of them. I can’t wait to see all THREE of you together too 🙂

Bill and Cassandra couldn’t have picked a better location for a special photo session to celebrate the soon to be birth of baby boy Samuel…they met AND got engaged at the U.S. Capitol! This sweet family of soon-to-be three were fun to work with and were adventurous enough to try all kinds of crazy ideas. I’m so happy for them and can’t wait to meet baby Samuel James in just a few weeks.
