Saturday was a bit cold and windy, but that didn’t deter Abigail, Jan, and Eliza from meeting me to snap a few photos of their sweet family. This might have been the most efficient session I have ever done. I turned my back for five minutes and Abigail had already put Eliza in her second outfit of the session. Otis, their dog, even made a quick appearance.
It was so nice to see you all again. Have a great end of the year!

Last weekend I met up with Betsy, Guy, and Ben to take some fall (or winter!) photographs at Jones Point Park. Ben has grown so much! He now has beautiful blond air and is really a curious toddler. It was so great to see you all again, have a great holiday season!
I had the absolute pleasure to photograph Kathleen, Dana and their sweet one year old boy Anderson again a few weekends ago. This handsome family met with at Jones Point Park on a cold fall morning. I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I took newborn photographs of Anderson. He’s a chill little boy who’s having fun learning to stand up and will be walking in no time, I’m sure!
Over Labor Day weekend, I finally got to meet little Eddie – who kept everyone waiting for quite some time! At three days old, this little guy was cute as can be and seemed to fit right in with big brother Seph and moms Nicole and Beth. Eddie was given his first bath – and had mixed feelings about the experience. Moms Nicole and Beth had their superwoman capes on and managed to wrangle in their family and toddler with inspiring ease. Congratulations on your beautiful family, Beth and Nicole!
What a difference a year makes! It feels like I was taking little Seph’s newborn photographs just yesterday and now he is a spunky little toddler that loves to run and play. I had so much fun spending time with Beth and Nicole again as they prepare to welcome their second son into the world. Good luck with the upcoming birth!
This Monday, the hubby and I both managed to find time to shower and get our little one ready for his first photo shoot. I predict years of excessive photo-taking and can already guess that Dear Husband and Son will become very frustrated 🙂 Here are a few of my favorites of our little one, Jonathan.
I finally purchased and made use of a quality remote control device for my camera! Last week’s subject was none other than…myself and my husband! We headed down to the Cherry Blossoms at the last minute and set the tripod up to capture a few photographs before we welcome our newest addition into the family. Here are a few of my favorites:
A couple of weekends ago I had the pleasure of photographing Sara and Michael and their beautiful brand new daughter Sadie. This little one was happiest in her parents arms and loved looking at them. Congratulations you two, what a lovely family you have!
Last weekend I had the pleasure of celebrating Hannah’s first birthday by photographing her playing and having fun with her parents Larry and Beth in their beautiful home in Washington, DC. Hannah was a lot of fun to be around, as were her parents. She’s full of spunk and yet very focused when playing with her toys. She loves books and really enjoyed playing with her farm set. We ended the session with a cake smash that was more of a careful cake dissection – Hannah very gently tasted it. Here are a few of my favorites from the session.
On a chilly Valentine’s Day morning, I had the pleasure of meeting Jan, Abigail, and their newborn daughter Eliza. This NC couple have a cozy home and were settling in nicely as a new family of three. Here are a few of my favorite photographs from the session.
A few days ago I had the pleasure of meeting Kathleen, Dana, and their brand new baby boy. Little Anderson enjoyed sleeping and then watching his mom and dad as I snapped photographs. I loved all the grey in their condo and their nursery decor.

Ryan, Carrie, and their three children are pretty incredible people. I’ve  been photographing their children, Grace, Owen, and Jack, for a number of years now and really enjoy watching them all grow. I know it can’t be easy, but Ryan and Carrie are pretty amazing parents and make it seem easy. I had the recent pleasure of takingfamily photographs of them at Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria, VA. This past weekend, I had the pleasure of capturing Arthur and Jennifer’s little family – soon to expand by one! Their 17-month old son Caleb made the morning fun. We simply followed him around the park and watched him have a blast climbing steps (which Meridian Hill Park has plenty of!), play with sticks, and pet every passing dog. A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing sweet Ace and his family at Meridian Hill Park in DC. Ace just turned one, and his lovely mother, Angela, wanted pictures of him and out-of-town family to celebrate his first birthday. Two weeks ago, I was lucky enough to meet Allyson and Matt’s  newborn baby girl, Caroline. Allyson and I know each other through our gym and are good friends – watching Caroline go from just a little bump in her mom’s belly to an actual person in front of me was pretty amazing. And no matter how many times I see this happening, it’s still always so special.

Spring has come to Washington, DC and there’s no better way to celebrate its arrival than by visiting with friends and taking in the beauty of the cherry blossoms. I’ve known Jessica and Justin for many years now and they’ve patiently let me practice my photography on them and their son. I really enjoyed watching this sweet family explore the tidal basin early in the morning in celebration of their anticipated new arrival – a baby girl! A few days ago I had the absolute pleasure to meet little Miss Angela. While I love all the babies I photograph, I’m not going to lie – Angela may have been the calmest. She was awake. And then just like that, she was asleep. She’s a keeper, guys! But you already knew that. In any case, she was a delight to meet and I had fun seeing Amy and Ian again. They are doing spectacularly well and parenthood was clearly meant for them. Keep up the good work.

Photographing any child over two always makes me realize how out of shape I am. But also why I love this work.
I loved running after Oliver and Izzy a couple of weekends ago. Their boisterous laughter is contagious. Maria and Diller seemed to have it all under control, which made me in awe of them.
